Critical Subjects: Architecture & Design Winter School think critically, design differently
To win a place at the winter school requires you to simply film a 60-second architectural critique of one of the following buildings: - 1. The Burj Khalifa; 2. BedZed; 3. The Chrysler Building; 4. Ronchamp. Videos must present a cogent, critical argument - �for� or �against� - one of the above. Your critique should show an understanding of architecture and design, but this project also seeks awareness of the intellectual basis for architecture and design and you are encouraged to interrogate the buildings in relation to social issues, political perspectives and intellectual nuances. You should note that the judges will be looking for intelligent arguing and case making over and above formal technical excellence Requirements 1. Videos should be no longer than 60 seconds and must be less than 2MB. 2. This final date for competition entries is August 10th 2010. 3. You must be a First Year undergraduate (as of May 2010) in architecture, design, urbanism or a related subject. 4. Your must include your Name, Age, Year of Study, University/College, Address, Email/Phone. 5. All entries should be accompanied by proof of eligibility � copies of official documentation to prove you are at the end of your first year in university/college, and studying architecture, design, urbanism or related subject.
